Don Mathis's Bio:


 Don Mathis is passionate about Kinetic Social. Don Mathis helped create the Kinetic Social concept in 2010. Previously, Don Mathis was the CEO of digital ad network Epic Advertising. The company grew to $200 million in annual revenues under his watch before being merged into Connexus (backed by Oak Capital Partners, Idealab and Insight Venture Partners) in early 2010. Don also served as COO of Small World Sports, the first online fantasy sports company, which was sold to The Sporting News (backed by Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures). He also had stints with the turnaround firm AlixPartners, McKinsey & Co., and Accenture, where he was a programmer.



Outside of his "day job", Don Mathis has served as a Naval Officer on active and reserve duty, including post-9/11 mobilizations at Ground Zero and in the Middle East. He began his Navy career as a P-3 anti-submarine aircraft Flight Communications Officer, and he served with the United Nations in Cambodia and in Bosnia.


Don Mathis' other community service experience includes having worked with the independent democracy watchdog organization Freedom House, and serving on the not-for-profit boards of the educational organization Roads To Success, the non-partisan public policy group Third Millennium, and the documentary film company Magellan Productions.


Don Mathis graduated with honors from Harvard Business School and Vassar College, where he was awarded the S. H. Chen Zen prize for best written thesis. He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), and has served on the boards of private companies Unified Media, Affinity Labs and Mystic Entertainment Corporation. Don Mathis holds a Commercial Pilot's license with multi-engine and instrument ratings.

Small World Sports was founded in 1994, and created the first online rotisserie baseball and fantasy sports leagues.Small World Sports developed into one of the three largest fantasy businesses on the web, and its sites scaled to the upper echelon of all web properties. In addition to creating its own online games, it built games for Yahoo!, AltaVista, Lycos, CNN/SI,, Fox Sports, and The Sporting News, among others.
